Freight:
When shipping by air you either pay by dimension or weight. In the event you are paying by weight, determining whether materials exist in the marketplace that offer the same level of protection but are lighter in design (lightweight packaging) will help significantly. When shipping by dimension, you want to optimize your ODs so that ideally through thinner material you can maximize your IDs.
Packing: Determining how long it takes to assemble your current packaging and the number of employees involved in the process will help you identify how choosing a packaging solution that reduces labor time is cost effective.
Handling: As a global company, one thing we see overlooked 80% of the time is how the product is being unpacked. The out of sight out of mind saying kicks in and companies forget that certain countries may not have the same luxuries as we do in North America when it comes to handling equipment. So knowing how it will be handled internally and at your receiving end (customers site) could save you a lot of headaches and additional costs.
Packaging Design: Nefab has over 40 packaging engineers on staff for a reason. Packaging designs are taken very seriously since creating a design that is optimal for your product, your handling, your requirements, and conveys an image of integrity to your customer takes a lot of consideration. In general, each design created by Nefab's Packaging Development Center's (PDC's) takes on average 30 hours.
Warehousing: Holding inventory isn't cheap, nor is taking away floor space from your core initiatives. Nefab packaging is designed to be entirely collapsible ensuring your floor space is available for your key competency - producing your products!
Waste: Through Nefab's Packaging Development Centers customers have the availability of "green" packaging solutions. Nefab has developed a Green Team in January 2008 assembling people from each continent with different roles & responsibilities to work together to achieve this common goal. In addition, Nefab offers its customers a return service for Nefab manufactured materials, free of charge. The customer simply pays the freight to the nearest Nefab facility and Nefab will dispose of the material in the greenest way possible.
